Terrance Turner is a native Rhode Islander, born of Italian-Irish parents in the capital city of Providence in 1952. Educated in the state’s local schools, Terrance first attended St Teresa’s School, then the Regent Avenue grammar school before moving on to the then George J West Junior High School. When his family moved to North Providence, Terrance then attended, and graduated from, North Providence High School in 1970.

Terrance then worked briefly in both local construction and radiography in the submarine building industry at Electric Boat. Based on his keen interest in working with people, Terrance began pursuing studies at Rhode Island College in psychology and political science, in which he received his BA degree upon graduating in 1977. With his interest in law and his participation in politics, Terrance moved on to law school, graduating from Suffolk University with his law degree in 1980.

Upon obtaining his law degree, Terrance then quickly passed his RI, Massachusetts and federal bar exams and began his private law practice in both of those states. Combining his legal education with his interest in helping young people further their own education, Terrance immediately began teaching law as an adjunct instructor at local colleges and business schools and has continued to do so ever since.

Today, Terrance is well known and well respected for having taught thousands of students through scores of law courses, from business law to criminal procedure, including some of Rhode Island’s most prominent business people and elected officials.

Terrance is the father of two children, a daughter who is in the state’s banking profession and a son who is pursuing his goal of becoming a professional golfer and golf instructor.
